GOT QUESTIONS?

We get it! There are a lot of questions around Fibroblast! Here, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our Fibroblast therapy, what to expect before, during, and after your appointment, and how this innovative treatment can help you achieve your skincare goals. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out – we’re always happy to help!

What is Fibroblast?

A plasma pen uses plasma to create an electric charge that’s shot out through a small needle via a plasma arch, and this creates tiny micro burns on the skin. So the needle doesn’t actually touch the skin, it just hovers above and creates a spark. This makes makes the excess skin vaporize and contract around the dot, so when you lay create multiple dots close together, it causes a contraction in a whole area, which is how it tightens and lifts the skin. And sometimes we’ll focus on a tightening a whole area and create a grid pattern, or we’ll use other technique to focus on specific wrinkles or problem areas, but we’ll go over all that in your consultation to figure out which approach is best for you and your skin, because everyone is different. Some practicians have a more generalized approach, but I’ve always seen the best results creating a unique approach based on the client’s individual skin goals.

So you’ll see immediate tightening on the skin, but then what happens then is your body’s fibroblast kicks in and produces collagen to repair the skin, and you’ll continue to see tightening effects 10-12 weeks afterwards. Most people see fabulous results after the first session, but if we’re focusing on an area with a good amount of excess skin or maybe some deeper wrinkles, we’ll sometimes need 2 or 3 treatments to achieve the full result.

How Long Does it Last?

While the fibroblast created by the plasma pen is technically considered permanent, it does not stop the body's natural aging process. That said, the results from Fibroblast therapy are noticeable and can last anywhere from 2 to 5 years!

Does it hurt?

We do everything we can to ensure you're as comfortable as possible during your Fibroblast treatment. Before we begin, we apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area and let it sit for about 40 minutes to minimize any discomfort. While everyone's pain tolerance is different, most clients describe the sensation as a light tingling or mild stinging. Of course, we’ll check in with you throughout the process to make sure you’re comfortable!

How Do i Prepare for My Appointment?

Avoid sun exposure: Keep your skin out of the sun or use SPF for at least a week before your treatment. Make sure the area being treated isn’t sunburned or overly tanned.

Stop Retinol & AHA skincare products: Stop using retinol, acids, or other strong skincare products on the treatment area at least 3-5 days before your appointment to prevent increased sensitivity.

Come with a clean face: Arrive at your appointment with a clean face, free of makeup, moisturizers, or other products on the treatment area.

Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps your skin respond better to treatment and heal faster. Keeping your skin moisturized in the days leading up to your appointment is also important.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Refrain from consuming alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before your appointment, as they can thin the blood and increase skin sensitivity.

Can Fibroblast replace botox?

While both Plasma Pen and Botox are used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, they work in very different ways and have distinct benefits. Plasma Pen provides a longer-lasting solution by targeting the skin's surface and stimulating collagen production, leading to skin tightening and rejuvenation. The results can last 2-5 years, making it a great option for those seeking a more natural, non-invasive approach to anti-aging.

Botox, on the other hand, works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles beneath the skin to smooth out wrinkles. It typically lasts 3-6 months and is ideal for treating dynamic wrinkles (those caused by muscle movement).

The Plasma Pen doesn’t replace Botox, but it’s a fantastic alternative for those looking for long-lasting skin tightening without injections. Depending on your goals, some clients may even use both treatments in combination! We’ll go over the best approach for you during your consultation.

Am I a good candidate for fibroblast?

If you struggle with hyperpigmentation or have a history of keloid scarring, this treatment may not be the best fit for you. It's also not recommended for individuals with active skin infections, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

You may experience some redness and swelling in the treated area for a few days, along with small scabs forming where the plasma dots were applied, which will naturally fall off as your skin heals. Mild itching or dryness can also occur as the skin repairs itself.

We'll carefully assess your skin during the consultation to make sure Fibroblast is the right treatment for you, and we'll provide detailed aftercare instructions to help minimize any side effects.
